While dozens of stores and clothing chains are closed across the United States, Nordstrom Rack announced the opening of five stores in California.

Announcements of closures from Macy’s, JC Penney and Forever 21 are just a few of the hundreds of establishments that have reduced their presence in California in recent years.

However, not all announcements are closures.

Nordstrom Rack on Monday announced plans to open new stores in the United States, five of which will be in California.

“We look forward to opening these new Nordstrom Rack stores,” said Carl Jenkins, senior vice president of Nordstrom Rack stores. “In addition to shopping top brands at great prices, our California customers can take full advantage of these convenient new locations for online pickup and returns.”

Nordstrom Rack is a chain of stores that offers low prices and discounts on luxury or designer brands. It focuses on sales inside the venue as well as online.
