According to the latest update, this Miami Dade County Public Schools Police officer is in stable condition after being airlifted to the Trauma Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
According to information from the Hialeah Police Department, where the traffic accident occurred, the injured officer was on his way to attend to a medical emergency another officer was having at a nearby school.
The officer involved in the accident has several bruises on his body after the impact with a white vehicle in the middle of a road junction.
The other driver was slightly injured and was taken care of by the rescuers on the spot.
The officer is currently receiving medical attention after arriving at Jackson Memorial Hospital by helicopter.
As confirmed by the agency, there are no life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to determine exactly how the loud crash happened, as well as who was responsible for the collision.
