The Miami-Dade County Department of Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces is offering a variety of affordable summer camp programs this year.
Through a statement, the Parks Department said the camps will be held June 12 through August 4 at 30 county parks. Camps will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with options for early entry at 7:30 a.m. and late pickup at 6 p.m.
Registration for the general camp program, for children aged 6 to 14, will be done online from Monday, April 3. The cost for these camps is $45 per week, plus a non-refundable $15 registration fee, with various payment options.
Registration for the Children’s Trust camp will be in person beginning Saturday, April 8 at 8 a.m. These camps are free, although a non-refundable registration fee of $15 is required per child. For a list of available sites, visit this page.
All camps are inclusive for children with disabilities. TRI camps are exclusively for people with disabilities. Some of these programs are chargeable and others are funded by the Children’s Trust. For a list of TRI campsites, visit this page.
