A Miami Beach doctor has been arrested on human trafficking and other charges related to alleged sexual activity with minors, court records show.
Dr Jefferey David Kamlet, 68, was arrested on Thursday and faces more than half a dozen charges including human trafficking, using a computer to lure a child into conduct sexual activity, solicitation of illegal sexual activity with a minor and delivery of a controlled substance to a child.
Prosecutors noted there were two alleged victims and among the charges Kamlet supplied cocaine to a girl.
In court on Friday, Kamlet’s lawyer asked for bail, arguing that the suspect was not at risk of fleeing.
In court, it was revealed today that the man had been a Florida lawyer for over 30 years. Its headquarters are located on 41st Street in Miami Beach.
