A judge has cleared the way for the City of Miami Beach to change the latest time until which alcohol can be sold after a nightclub took the city to court, saying the move was unconstitutional.
This court document is a victory for the city where in 2022 voters asked Miami Beach leaders to move the last hour of liquor sales from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Fulfilling that mandate is closer than ever because after years of trying to do so, the final call will take effect in a day or two, the city’s mayor said.
“We should have implemented those orders immediately after voters told us they wanted them,” Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber said last month.
