At least three officers were injured in a confrontation outside a Lincoln Heights apartment building, with a heavy police response surrounding the building.
Authorities have encouraged residents to stay indoors near the apartment located at North Mission Road and North Broadway.
The injured officers were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
LAPD units have completely surrounded a building where they believe a possibly armed man has been hiding.
