It happened as soon as the Bahrain test started. Spear Stroll hit from behind Fernando Alonso, his partner at Aston Martin, bordering on tragedy for the green team in a new project that got off to a magnificent start. Nothing happened, both ended and surprised

But Stroll suffered. A lot. He himself said that this blow had caused him a “terrible pain” which even made him cry inside the AMR23.

After the race he explained: “The contact caused a fire in my wrists. I shed some tears of pain and angerbut luckily both riders stayed on the track and avoided what could have been a suicide.”

“If I hadn’t been in the points, I would have given up 20 laps to go. I suffered, but gritted my teeth thinking about those points and what they meant after the craziest two weeks of my life,” said the Canadian rider.

The story ended with a happy ending. Aston Martin he took his first podium of the year in the first race. Something unthinkable when Alonso signed with the Silverstone team a few months ago (at the time they were ninth in the constructors’ championship).

Lance also finished in the points. He was seventh, ahead of the Mercedes of George Russell, and opened his locker with 8 points. The beginnings of Aston Martin are more than exciting.
