When you watch anime and find CGI like the mythical anime of “Berserk“from a few years ago, or like the one from the first season of”Kingdom“, you can really understand that every time someone reads the word ‘CGI’, it can trigger a panic. But I think there’s a world between constructive and reasoned criticism and meaningless complaints, this is for me what is happening with “Kimetsu no Yaiba” and the third season of the animeAKA the Blacksmiths Village Arch.

Is the animation of Kimetsu no Yaiba so bad that the reviews are exploding?

Basically, to get you to the epicenter of the controversy I want to discuss, I have as simple as leave you with the next tweet:

And now we will comment a little more in detail on this piece, because you really need VAR:

  • If we enter the tweet, there are those who agree with the user of the publication and there are those who explain that it does not matter. In case there is still any doubt, I obviously agree with the latter and not with the former.
  • Is it really after two seasons and a movie in which Kimetsu no Yaiba raised the bar for weekly anime almost single-handedly, now you gotta ride that chicken for once they’re using CGI? I’m sorry, but it’s one more sign that Twitter is full of adult babies.
  • On the other hand, I mean directly that this NOT BAD CGI. If anyone wants to see bad CGI, watch the anime I mentioned at the beginning. What the hell, a few weeks ago I was celebrating the CGI of Record of Ragnarok, which is even a hair worse than that. It’s not about deciding, it’s about really knowing when a criticism is inappropriate and when it is not.
  • The main problem with this CGI is the fact of integrating it into a 2D environment with a character represented in the same way, in addition to the fact that it is a really strange being. If you go to the Chainsaw Man anime, you can see that there isn’t much difference between this and that. And again, neither does the bad CGI.

they are quite tired review for personal diaries which are given on Twitter as a bare minimum, especially in the anime world, where a lot of people really need to attack other productions to try and make sure theirs always comes out on top. Ufotable has been doing a spectacular job with “Kimetsu no Yaiba” for years, so for once they do something a bit out of place compared to the whole anime i think they have earned the respect to not be trampled on in such a vulgar way.
