The Persona series, born out of Shin Megami Tensei, has grown bigger than its parent franchise, with many hugely popular games.

Many people will believe that the order of the saga Character It’s absurd because there are only five games in this saga, but no, there are more than 5 deliveries. really, there is 6 Persona games plus spin-offs. For those of you who don’t know, the first Character it was already a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei saga. But in its time it was so popular that they ended up making more separate installments of this sub-saga and it ended up becoming its own franchise.

To date, as I have already said, Persona is an extremely popular saga, especially after a personas 5 that he asked a lot. Since then, this same game, in addition to Person 3 and Person 4, they arrived translated into many languages for the first time in the series, including Spanish from Spain. It’s because of it many have discovered this saga in recent years and have fallen in love with it. So, if you want to continue discovering the other games of this franchise, I leave you the order in which to play them.

Person: In which order to play all the games

First, I’ll leave you a list with all the major Persona series games there. I will put in parentheses if it is a main deliveryof a spin-off that of a flashback.

  • Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (main game)
  • Persona 2: Innocent Sin (main game)
  • Persona 2: Eternal Persecution (main game)
  • Persona 3 (main game)
  • Person 3 DO (reversion)
  • Persona 4 (main game)
  • Persona 3 Portable (reversion)
  • persona 4 golden (reversion)
  • persona 4 arena (spin off)
  • Persona 4 Arena Ultimate (spin-off cover)
  • Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth (spin off)
  • Persona 4: Dance All Night (spin off)
  • personas 5 (main game)
  • Persona 3: Dancing in the Moonlight (spin off)
  • Persona 5: Dancing under the starlight (spin off)
  • Persona Q2: New Cinema Maze (spin off)
  • Persona 5 Royal (reversion)
  • Persona 5 Strikers (spin-off, although very main)
  • Persona 5: The Phantom X (spin off)

Well yes, These are all the episodes of the saga. But when it comes to talking about the order in which to play them, I’m going to focus only in which they have a plot. That is to say, we are going to put aside the dance games. Taking this into account, all titles take place in the same universe, but in most cases the plot and the characters change, it is therefore not necessary to play other games beforehand to understand the story. It happens as with the Final Fantasy, For example.

However, some titles are related, so I will divide the order into blocks. And here I want to emphasize that It doesn’t matter in which order you play these “blocks”. You can start with the block personas 5 then go to Persona 3 because yes, no problem.

Block 1: The first person

Here we will focus on Persona 1, Persona 2: Innocent Sin there Persona 2: Eternal Persecution. because it turns out that in Persona 2, characters from Persona 1 appear, and the events are later. That being said, it is very important play persona 1 first then to Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

As for eternal peace, this title tell another story of what is happening in innocent sinso yours would be to play it after knowing what happens in Innocent sin.

Block 2: Person 3

Now is the time to talk about Personas 3. I’m one of those people who wants to know all sides of the same story, so I would recommend that they start with the original Persona 3. But it can be lazy, of course, and nothing happens either if you start in Persona 3 FES. This game has some playable improvements and most importantly, with an extension at the end of the main plot. Come on, the ending is somewhat changed and the story is longer.

But nothing happens if you boot into Portable and then play FES. I made a post explaining all the differences between FES and Portable. It is important that you read it, because Portable doesn’t have the extension at the end of the story, but FES does, and I highly recommend meeting her. You can see the message below:

Block 3: Person 4

Then we have the block Personas 4. Like I said before, I’m a fan of knowing all sides of the story, so I’d play first Original Persona 4. Sure, that can be a pain in the ass, and again, you can upgrade to Persona 4 Golden, since they will tell you the same story but with an additional epilogue.

after playing Golden, I recommend you play Arena Ultimax (no need to play Arena), since this game, even if it is about fighting, it has a plot centered around characters from Persona 4 and Persona 3. So if you are going to play this game make sure you have passed Persona 3 there Personas 4.

Block 4: Person Q

The two series of Person Q come from the Nintendo 3DS, but they are really fun. It’s not that its plot is canonical, but it’s very interesting since you see the main characters of your favorite Personas interact. the command is Play Persona Q first, then Persona Q2.

However, I recommend that play Persona 3 and 4 first before playing Persona Q. And if you are going to play Person Q2, that you have also played Persona 5, since the characters of this title appear in Person Q2.

Block 5: Person 5

Yes, I repeat myself a lot, but once again I say that I prefer to know all the versions of the same story, so i like the idea of playing first personas 5 original. But, you can start directly with Persona 5 Royal (which also has an extra epilogue at the end of the story) and you’re still going to enjoy it. In fact, I did it this way.

So I recommend play Persona 5 Strikers, what game and continues the story of the original episode, but not that of Royal, because Royal ends differently.

and then we have Persona 5: The Phantom X, which aims to be a spin-off but very main, with its own plot in the universe of personas 5 and that it will even include characters from the original game in some way. Again, this seems to continue the story of the original episode, not that of Royal. The game is not released yet, so I will update this information as soon as it is released.
