The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police announced this Saturday that a mother identified the sketch released by authorities of the boy found dead on the morning of Friday the 28th near Mountain Springs and State Route 160 at around 8:00 a.m.

LVMPD Sgt. Ray Spencer told a news conference that the woman, whose identity was not released, called authorities after seeing the image and said it was her 8-year-old son.

He also identified it in the photos of the body, the officer added.

During the investigation, authorities learned that the 8-year-old boy was last seen Thursday leaving his home at 9 pm with his biological father, José Montes-Herrera.

Sgt. Spencer said Montes-Herrera later went to pick up another son, 11-year-old Eden Montes. Since then, no one has seen them again.

LVMPD has issued an alert to locate the father and the 11-year-old boy. It is known that they were traveling aboard a 2015 white GMC truck, with the license plate LVUOOX with a decal on the rear glass that says “Mr Express”.
