The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police announced this Saturday that a mother identified the sketch released by authorities of the boy found dead on the morning of Friday the 28th near Mountain Springs and State Route 160 at around 8:00 a.m.
LVMPD Sgt. Ray Spencer told a news conference that the woman, whose identity was not released, called authorities after seeing the image and said it was her 8-year-old son.
He also identified it in the photos of the body, the officer added.
During the investigation, authorities learned that the 8-year-old boy was last seen Thursday leaving his home at 9 pm with his biological father, José Montes-Herrera.
Sgt. Spencer said Montes-Herrera later went to pick up another son, 11-year-old Eden Montes. Since then, no one has seen them again.
LVMPD has issued an alert to locate the father and the 11-year-old boy. It is known that they were traveling aboard a 2015 white GMC truck, with the license plate LVUOOX with a decal on the rear glass that says “Mr Express”.

Reports given to authorities indicate that they could be en route to Sacramento or Fresno, in California, or south or central Utah.
The father has connections to Mexico, so he could also pass through Arizona.
The body was discovered by some hikers who were walking through the area and a homicide investigation was immediately launched.
