Authorities confirmed on Monday that two people were killed in an accident involving a helicopter that crashed in the foothills of the Lakeview area on Friday.
Authorities said they received the “plane emergency” call around 12:40 p.m. near Chastity Road and Pulsar View, about 10 miles from Hemet Airport, according to the Hemet Fire Department.
“Deputies arrived on scene and located a downed helicopter,” said Deirdre Vickers, the sheriff’s sergeant.
At least one person may have been rescued from the crash site, according to reports from the scene.
Investigators remain on site to obtain more information on the cause of this accident. The names of the deceased have not been released.
