Where are all these albums going that never saw the light of day? Where are those songs that were recorded and by fate never released? What about those lyrics that were composed but never recorded? Artists are continuously composing songs, unloading their feelings into melodies and sharing them with their fans. But sometimes, due to various circumstances, records that are finished or in an advanced creative process end up being totally thrown away. A pain! Above all, because we can’t wait to hear them!

In LOS40, which we really like to draw from the library of newspapers, we remembered those albums that never saw the light of day. Either because the artists did not feel represented during the presentation of the project, or because the material was destroyed for external reasons, these four albums have never been heard by fans.

Aitana and her urban album

Aitana talks to us about her third studio album since 2020. The Spanish star started composing the album even before the release of 11 Reasons. In fact, in an interview with Tony Aguilar for the Global Show, Aitana gave some details on how it was going to sound. And it seems that at that time the house sound was not in his plans:

“The new album will go in this direction: more urban and more electronic, but still in pop, that’s what I like and what I know how to do”.

Additionally, the singer went on to explain where the hits were going to go, “The album we’re preparing leaves behind that two-thousand sound and focuses a bit more on the reggaeton rhythm.”

Aitana also explained that she was looking for collaborations and that Berlin was the first single of this new musical era. Finally, as we know, this album was left out. Aitana went with a totally different sound and concept for Alpha, more house-focused, as she assured. Of course, he did not rule out saving one of the songs that would make up this album.

“I felt like they had no line and because of the things that are going on in people’s lives, when I went to LA last January I wrote a brand new record” , ended up saying the singer on her Instagram account. In this way, Aitana fans were eager to hear this work.

Amaia: an album with Raül Refree?

When Amaia left Operation Triumph He was one of the most famous people in Spain. The artist moved an entire country with his charismatic voice and his way of going on stage. He moved with every note he played.

In this way, everyone was waiting for the first work of the Pamplonica. 2018 and 2019 passed, and the singer did not release an album. Just a glimpse of what his project was going to be: A new place, produced by Raül Refree (the same man who was behind the sound of Los Ángeles de Rosalía).

This track, which was produced with great care, was going to be part of an LP he was working on with Refree.

“I would see someone who reminded me of Randy Newman. I focused on something super classic with a gospel faith choir. I was thinking of a super production recorded live, but it didn’t work out. With the whole mechanism, they preferred to do something else,” said the producer on how he visualized this record.

Finally, Amaia released Pero no pasa nada at the end of 2019: a pop album produced by Santiago Motorizado.

C. Tangana: what happened to the reggaeton record?

C. Tangana has been crowned as one of the most important musicians in Spain thanks to Madrid: an album that is already part of the musical history of our country. In 2021, the singer released a masterpiece in the form of an LP, merging various genres and bringing the sounds of our folklore to mainstream music.

But did you know he had a fully finished album that never saw the light of day? In 2020, Tangana made the following statement to The Associated Press:

“I had prepared a record that followed the wave of current urban music, R&B, trap, reggaeton, that’s what everyone does, and the quarantine helped me change course and start with this project a bit riskier”

Come on, it was in quarantine when he decided to do a 180 degree turn on what he had prepared. It must be remembered that during these months Antón released some of the songs that would define the downfall of El Madrileño. We talked about Nunca estoy y Bien, two songs that perfectly defined the mood of these months and that soon went viral.

We assume that the album Tangana had prepared was going to follow the releases he released just before the pandemic. The last? He comes and goes with Natti Natasha.

Ana Guerra saw the light before jumping

Ana Guerra was born on a Tuesday. She did so after standing in front of her label bosses and revealing she didn’t feel comfortable with the album they recorded with her.. The Canarian did not feel identified with this album with more urban songs. Ana told us in an interview for LOS40:

“I was very anxious and came to the conclusion that when I heard the finished album, I had to say that I didn’t want to release it. (…) I was no longer comfortable. He had changed. I believe that every human being in their life flips the coin and puts it on the other side. I was able to discover myself because I stopped. And I quit because there was a global pandemic. I wish there hadn’t been, but I’m not trading this learning for anything in the world. It has been the best and the worst year of my life. All the bad that I went through came out”.

This is how La luz del tueste was born: an album with which Ana feels completely identified and which has given her so much joy.
