As thousands of people remain stranded in San Bernardino County due to the historic winter storm that dumped up to seven feet of snow, authorities have stepped up efforts to help residents.

The Public Works team reported that “409 miles or 79% of roads maintained by San Bernardino County have been cleared by crews working around the clock since last week from Mount Baldy and Wrightwood to the eastern edge of the Big Bear Valley”.

Authorities clarified that clear or “passable” roads means at least one lane is open “with less than 8 inches of snow, on which four-wheel-drive vehicles with chains can operate,” according to the statement.

On this interactive map you can see the roads that have been cleared. The map is maintained by San Bernardino County.

In addition, the authorities have set up centers for the free distribution of food. These are open from 10 a.m. while supplies last.
