A man has died after being attacked by four dogs in the Jurupa Valley, animal services authorities have said.

The attack happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at a property at the corner of Bellegrave Avenue and Martin Street, the Riverside County Department of Animal Services said.

The victim was believed to have been there to work for the owner, the animal services department said.

Someone called 911 after hearing screams at the location, which RCDAS says is a residential home-turned-business. The Animal Services Department said the man had performed previous work for the owner without incident.

The property is located across from Jurupa Valley High School. The school is fenced and has several signs that say “beware of the dog”.

A neighbor who did not want to be named told our sister network NBC4 that dogs often come out because workers entering and exiting the property leave the door unlocked.

“Dogs chase cars, high school kids. They are dangerous, that’s why I always close my door, I have small children and that’s why I close it,” he said.

The Los Angeles Police Department on Tuesday sought City Council approval to acquire a four-legged robot that resembles a dog despite criticism that it would further erode trust between police and communities of color. .

The owner was not there at the time of the attack and later handed over the dogs, three Belgian Malinois and a Cane Corso, for euthanasia, the animal services department said.

In a press release, Animal Services Director Erin Gettis called the attack a reminder to dog owners to be vigilant to keep others safe. “This is a tragedy and our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of this gentleman,” Gettis said.
