This Thursday morning, a fire broke out at a Miami-Dade County electronics recycling plant in Doral.
The Miami-Dade Fire Department (MDFR) is at the scene of the fire following an alarm at the factory located in the 8800 block of Northwest 58th Street, which reportedly started shortly after 7 hours of the morning.
Doral City Hall reported the fire on their Twitter account. “Keep in mind there is a fire at the Appliance Recycling Plant near Doral. Miami-Dade firefighters are working on it and should put it out within 30 minutes.”
No injuries were reported and the MDFR said the fire started in a waste pile containing appliances such as refrigerators and microwaves. The crews managed to bring the fire under control.
Nearby residents posted photos on social media showing flames and thick smoke coming from the facility.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area between West 58th Street and West 87th Avenue.
