But Bundesliga’s Julian Brandt POTM is already available in Ultimate Team, via a Squad Building Challenge that will not expire until March 16. He will have chemistry in four different positions and many of his stats are compelling, although he will also suffer from several flaws which we will now discuss.

His shooting numbers are balanced and very good for a low cost winger/player. His dribbling stats are also excellent and they are all around 90 plus he hits 90 vision, 91 short passing and 87 long passing. All these figures are quite convincing.Apart from the fact that it meets the stars (four and four) and that the 76 in strength will be more effective because of its size.
However, we feel that Brandt POTM will not take advantage of these assets as much as we would like. Probably they will be obscured many times due to some gaps. The first is that he combines the “Tall and Balanced” body type with a height of 1’85. These physical conditions can be positive for grappling, but they will make exceptional dribbling stats worse. That’s not so good in the game.
Even if he’s mostly worried about his horrible pace 77. Even applying Hunter as a chemistry, I would barely hit 85 acceleration and 85 sprints. These are extremely low attributes for this time in FIFA 23, and we already know that speed is an important aspect in Ultimate Team.
Brandt POMC should struggle a lot against typical rivals who advance their defensive lines a lot. In the counter-attacks he can be useful for his assists in space, but does not advance quickly. And that his start is slow should also make him a more predictable one-on-one footballer.
If his pace was right for this moment in FIFA 23, we’d probably be dealing with a very well-rounded striker. Someone very correct in front of goal and with quality. But by being so weak on this aspect, it clearly does not convince us for the gameplay.
So is it worth it?
We don’t recommend it for gameplay due to its pace. Some forwards in FIFA 23 lack a bit of acceleration but have a high sprint. While others fail in long runs but can sometimes hide it with good acceleration. In the case of Brandt POTM, he disappoints on both attributes.
Its slowness should be very awkward in front of advanced defenses and in counter-attacks. Apart from the fact that it could also hurt him at short distances, since it will make him less explosive and therefore he will not benefit from his quality as much.
However, since the SBC requirements are simple, you can complete it if you have non-transferable 82-83 socks left. Even more so if you receive a repeat non-transferable IF during that month. Because you could sacrifice it here to get a player with an overall rating of 88.
Even if you are not going to use it in your FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, you can use Brandt POTM in another Squad Building Challenge. This would convert some IFs and many low averages into an element with a high overall value. But for gameplay, we don’t recommend it.
In fact, if you need a right winger from the German Bundesliga, we would rather sign Gnabry Path to Glory. Because it’s so affordable, and while it gets worse in some stats, it does reach at least 98 haste with Hunter. He also does not stand out for his sprint (84, 92 with chemistry), but his start is faster.
Recommended Chemistry Style
- Hunter: Since he naturally already responds to many attributes and his pace is so low, we recommend improving the speed as much as possible. But even with the +8, it will barely hit 84 acceleration and 85 sprint. While Positioning will go up to 91, ending at 93, and Firepower at 92.
