A Montclair family is calling for justice as they say officers used excessive force against an Antonio Ibáñez, who is now in a coma in hospital.

“He won’t wake up again, they’ve already taken him from here, I want justice, they give him back to me. I want my son to go back!” cried Antonio’s mother.

This morning, Antonio’s mother, family and friends carried signs reading ‘Justice for Tony’.

We know my brother is not coming back, but right now I am speaking on behalf of my mother, who is physically, emotionally and mentally affected,” said Abraham Rojo, the victim’s brother.

On March 5, Montclair police said they received a call reporting a drug-impaired, 42-year-old Hispanic man, armed with an object, threatening a woman who was inside a vehicle with his daughters.

Arriving at the scene, the officers entered the house and one of the rooms and attempted to arrest him calling for the police to arrest him.
