El “Chapo” is worried about Emma Coronel, he has already found out that his wife is in prison

Joaquín Guzmán Loera, the Chapo, is attentive to the case that put his wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, in prison, through the attorneys who represent them both.

25 days after the former beauty queen was detained at the Dulles, Washington airport, it was revealed that the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel already knows about the situation.

In accordance with an interview with attorney Jeffrey Lichtman, by the chain Telemundo, it was possible to know that the Chapo is updated weekly on the arrest of the mother of his twins, who was insured on charges related to drug trafficking on February 22.

As explained by the journalist Nicole Suárez in the program “Hoy Día”, Lichtman is the bridge in the pair, which is separated by 2,750 kilometers: the distance between ADX Florence, Colorado, where Guzmán Loera is; even to the prison of Alexandria, Virginia, place where the authorities temporarily detained Emma Coronel.

US federal agents leaked statements about an alleged cooperation pact between the detainee and the US government.

But still with the possibility that she reveals data that could affect the Sinaloa Cartel, the former leader of that faction does not stop loving his last partner, according to the journalist of Telemundo.

On the other hand, the lawyer revealed that his client’s conditions have improved a little, after reports of mistreatment in prison like baths every four days, tap water consumption and cold at night.

However, the days behind bars are not comfortable for anyone. After leaking that Emma Coronel would expose the bosses of the Sinaloa Cartel, her daughters and the rest of her family were put in danger, because the possible victims in the criminal group could retaliate fatally.

“Yes you can go out for an hour during the day to bathe, exercise, talk to your family, one hour during the day and one hour at night. She is a very strong woman, stronger than many other clients I have had. She is very worried about her daughters, if they hadn’t planted the story, I think it would be better”, indicated the lawyer to the American media.

The defense evaluates, according to Lichtman, reaching a plea agreement or requesting bail, “everything is on the table.”

“We are in the process of probing government possession, we are also looking into the possibility of submitting a proposal for bail. Everything is on the table. This is a case of minimal participation within this whole great conspiracy, she will not spend the rest of her days in jail, in the worst case,” added the defender.

Just this March 19, the defendant agreed to waive her initial hearing, fact of which no further details are known. It is not clear when the kingpin found out about his wife’s arrest, but her lawyers signed up to represent her on March 4.

Under the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, there is a sum of up to 14 reasons why Emma Coronel and her defense agreed to waive her preliminary hearing. But in the strict sense, provisions 5.1 and 32.1 call for a change of assignment for the accused to appear or buy time and decide how to proceed.

Colonel Aispuro is charged by conspiracy charges to import heroin, cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine. If convicted, she would pay a minimum 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, plus a fine of up to $ 10 million.

According to the indictment of the case, she was a messenger for her husband Joaquín Guzmán Loera and conspired to send narcotics to the United States, both actions, between 2012 and 2017.

She also planned the escape of the Chapo in 2015, in direct statements from the godfather of one of her twins: Dámaso López Núñez, the Graduate, Guzmán Loera’s lieutenant.
