Police are looking for a man who crashed a van in a Santa Ana apartment complex and drove off after hitting a woman, leaving her in critical condition.
Firefighters were called at 10:20 p.m. Monday to the 1600 block of West Memory Lane to reports of a fire where the victim was found inside a unit in the complex with smoke but no indication of fire, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The victim was rescued and taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Witnesses at the scene told police the driver of the van accelerated and left the scene, possibly with a passenger, after crashing into the apartment.
Another woman was found injured at the scene and taken to hospital in an unknown condition.
