Several Dreamers from Miami and Orlando will arrive at the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee to make their voices heard on the bill that allows undocumented immigrants to pay college tuition at the same price as state residents.
The proposal to repeal the bill was introduced by Governor Ron DeSantis, who is expected to run for president.
The possibility that the “Dreamers” may not be able to afford college as local residents stems from a sweeping DeSantis anti-immigration bill.
In 2014, Republican Gov. Rick Scott enthusiastically signed into law the 2014 Dreamer State Fee so that those on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) could complete college.
