The world of Latin American dubbing is going through a difficult time. Just yesterday we informed you of the death of Mónica Villaseñor , the actress who gave voice to iconic anime characters, such as Android 18 from Dragon Ball and Tomoyo from Sakura Card Captor and today we are surprised by another related bad news.

Actor Pedro D’Aguillón Jr. died on February 3 at the age of 74. The news began to spread on social networks, where his colleagues lamented his departure. So far the cause of his death has not been revealed.

Pedro de Aguillón Lozano was born in 1947 and was the son of fellow actor Pedro D’Aguilón. He started dubbing in 1974, so he was close to celebrating fifty years of experience. He was also a dubbing director and radio announcer.

Lalo Garza, voice of Krillin and dubbing director, released the news and shared the following message:

René García, mainly known for voicing Vegeta in Dragon Ball, also lamented the death of his “dear Peter”:

The Mexican Doblaje Twitter account also expressed its condolences for the death of the actor:

What characters did Pedro D’Aguillón Jr. play?

Among his best-known works are Freddy Krueger in the original Nightmare on Hell Street trilogy, Willie Tanner in ALF, Willian T. Riker in the Star Trek franchise, Jason Francis “Jay” Pritchett in Modern Family, John Rambo in the first Rambo tape, Alfred Pennyworth in the Gotham series, John Kreese in the original dubs Karate Kid I, II and III; and Caesar Flickerman in the saga of The Hunger Games.

But his work reached millions of fans in the anime world. He voiced the famous Dragon Ball hitman and villain, Tao Pai Pai. In the same franchise he was also the Purple Ninja in the first anime; Sorbet, Frieza’s assistant in Dragon Ball Z: The Resurrection of Frieza; and the Ancient Supreme Kaio-sama, as well as the host of the Martial Arts Tournament in Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters.

We also hear him as Roland in Violet Evergarden, Chang Changku /006 in Cyborg 009, and as Yoruichi Shihouin in her cat form in BLEACH.
