The winter storm that swept through Southern California created a number of dangerous situations in Woodland Hills on Saturday.

The LAPD’s Topanga Division said it received multiple calls of downed trees blocking roads and damaging parked vehicles overnight.

An incident was reported on Vassar Avenue near Oxnard Street on Friday evening. Video from the scene shows a huge tree being uprooted and then falling onto several parked vehicles. The tree blocked all lanes of Vassar early Saturday morning.

He was close to a Woodland Hills family when another tree was downed by heavy rain on Domingo Road, about a mile from the Topanga Canyon exit of Highway 101. Fortunately, the tree fell a few centimeters from the house, without damaging the property.

Not far from Domingo Road, a tractor carrying double trailers crashed into a commercial building just off the 101 Topanga Canyon exit on Ventura Boulevard early Saturday morning. It’s not yet clear how many people were injured, but video from the scene shows the vehicle and building sustained significant damage.

Woodland Hills received nearly 10 inches of rain between Thursday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
