The NYPD is on the trail of Edwin Pedroza, suspected of having fatally stabbed Joan Núñez in a brawl that escalated inside a smoker’s shop in Brooklyn.

The beginning of the fight inside the business was caught on security video. It then spread to the street and the stabbing occurred at approximately 11:23 p.m. on Sept. 20, in front of 248 4th Ave.

The two men coincided as they entered the “Tobacco Road Corp” establishment on Fourth Avenue near President St. in the the neighborhood of Gowanus. Right away they argued because allegedly Pedroza “did not thank” Núñez for holding the door for him, said a police source.

The fight spread outside, where apparently Núñez hit Pedroza, who reacted by stabbing him in the abdomen and neck. Paramedics took him to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, but were unable to save him.

The 37-year-old deceased lived near the crime scene, police said. The suspect fled on an electric bike with the murder weapon and has not been caught. He was last seen pedaling towards Carroll St.
