The Dallas Police Department is holding a job fair this Saturday to fill open positions in the department.

The department said they are actively hiring for 911 call takers, dispatchers and other administrative and technical positions.

To fill as many open spaces as possible, the department is hosting an all-day event Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at police headquarters, the Jack Evans Building on Botham Jean Boulevard.

According to online job postings, trainees who take 911 calls can earn between $35,000 and $44,000 a year. A police dispatcher can earn between $43,000 and $54,000 a year.

Last summer, in addition to offering a hiring bonus, the department offered additional weekly bonuses for candidates who speak Spanish. It’s not clear if the department still offers those financial incentives.
