Evidence still intact on the ground, the police say they are working to apprehend and verbalize these drivers, who made these dangerous stunts at Brickell Avenue and Southeast 8th Street this Saturday.

A few minutes later, another joined him to make the popular Donuts on the sidewalk that woke up many a neighborhood resident.

The loud, spontaneous display of the skid was recorded on a Brickell resident’s cell phone. The fact left many neighbors astonished as it is rare for this to happen in this busy area.

Several Miami police cars responded to the intersection in an attempt to restore order as traffic was halted in all directions for several minutes.

Miami District 2 Commissioner Sabina Covo says:

“Extremely dangerous for all kinds of cities if you take into account that here people go out very early to play sports, people who go out for a run.”

Miami police say they are aware of the situation, adding in a statement that: “This behavior is not only dangerous and illegal, but it poses a great threat to the community as a whole and these actions will not be tolerated.”

Covo says that “the case is already being taken. This is a situation that must be stopped immediately.”

If you witness this type of activity, you can report it to the authorities. Police say they plan to increase patrols in this area to prevent breaches as they do in the future.
