Authorities in Northern California are searching for a 2-year-old boy who was in a car when it was stolen.

The vehicle, a 2008 Buick Enclave, was stolen in Sunnyvale, south of San Francisco, at about 4 a.m. when the boy’s mother was taking out packages.

The boy was identified as Jacob Jardine. At the moment there was no indication that the thieves knew that the minor was inside, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Police have so far not said if they have any suspects in mind, nor have they offered a physical description.

Jacob has curly red hair, brown eyes and was wearing a white hooded sweater, officials said.

The vehicle has a “Baby on Board” sticker and temporary Georgia paper plates but the number is unknown, police said.

The California Highway Patrol issued an alert for the missing child, spreading it throughout Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Cruz and Alameda.
