Among the successful American singers who continue to flood the music scene, Katy Perry is certainly a household name among most generations born in recent decades. This Californian, known for her pop songs full of energy and capable of becoming unfailingly real hooks, had the opportunity to establish a relationship with the famous British actor Orlando Bloom.
The two met in 2016, at an Oscars party, and bonded over their shared passion for art and culture, beginning dating soon after. However, these interests did not prevent the presentation of some ups and downs in their relationship, quite the contrary.
It wasn’t until 2017, a year after they met, that they announced they had gone on hiatus, but then they grew closer and in 2018 they also revealed their engagement. Later in 2019, Katy Perry released a single called “Never Really Over” which many interpreted as a dedication to Bloom. The same year, the couple officially confirmed their relationship at an event in Los Angeles.

In 2020, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom announced their pregnancy, and in August the couple welcomed their first child, Daisy Dove Bloom. In September of the same year, Bloom posted an Instagram post in which she showed off her engagement ring and confirmed that the couple were officially engaged. At the moment, they do not appear to be married, but they are still committed to their relationship and are often shown together in public.
That said, the British actor decided to open up about the relationship he built with the famous pop star, in an interview published in Flaunt magazine. Orlando Bloom spoke about Katy Perry describing her as his “mom and partner for life”, discussing how the two have different approaches to life due to their different experiences.
They are in two very different “domains”: the singer’s is not necessarily the one he understands, and the same goes for her and Bloom’s domain; it makes things very, very difficult at times.
“There are aspects of her life that I don’t necessarily understand, but I think it’s the same for her. Sometimes things are really, really, really hard, it’s not easy to be with her. We struggle with our emotions and our creativity, but I think we both know how lucky we are to have found each other, and there’s definitely never a dull moment.”
