The robbery took place at this PNC bank branch in downtown West Palm Beach after 10 a.m. Wednesday. The thief got away with an undisclosed sum of money, but the city police and the FBI managed to arrest him within 24 hours.
A suspect, seen in this image with a broomstick, wig and gun in hand, robbed the PNC Bank on Datura Street in downtown West Palm Beach on Wednesday morning.
West Palm Beach police spokesman Mike Jachles said, “He goes to the ATM and asks for the money again and points the gun and they walk away with an undetermined amount of money.”
For hours, authorities investigated the incident, closing off the streets and searching for the suspect.
“They worked all night, getting clues that led them to the rest of the bank robber.”
It was thanks to video surveillance which recorded the license plate of the car where he had fled, that the authorities were able to find him.
Meet Saeed Brown, 47. He was arrested by federal agents and West Palm Beach police Thursday at 1 a.m. as he left his home on Blue Heron Heron Blvd. Brown, who was on probation after he robbed another bank earlier this year 2021, he confessed to committing this latest robbery. Brown, for facing federal charges, his appearance before a judge was in federal court at WPB. Brown remains in the Palm Beach County Jail.
Fortunately, no one was injured during this armed robbery. On the other hand, the police were able to recover the stolen money from the bank.
