Point and end of the open controversy two weekends ago between bad bunny there Harry Styles. The first show of the Puerto Rican soloist at the Coachella 2023 festival showed a message that many took as an attack on the British interpreter. Seven days later, the reggaetonero/trapper wanted to put an end to the debate by showing another message on the screen with which he publicly apologized.
Because unlike the first post which appeared with no name and no user photo, in this case it was possible to read that the author of the post was Bad Bunny. Using the same image and format as the original, the performer apologized to his colleague: “I’m sorry, Harry. It was a mistake in my team. We love you.”
It was the last step that remained to be taken after the company Sturdy.co, responsible for the digital staging on the stage of the Coachella 2023 festival, gave explanations in the previous days. “Our intention is to create playful designs that embody Bad Bunny’s personality and amplify the experience he presents as an artist. The artist’s request during the visuals for the “El Apagón” presentation was to use only the image and not the text of the tweet, for which we take responsibility and correct it for the presentation of (this) Friday. These images are a celebration of Bad Bunny and his dedication to empowering his home island, Puerto Rico ,” the company commented via its official Instagram profile.
It was the logical response from officials after Rolling Stone magazine contacted representatives for the performer. The artist’s work team said they have no further comment other than the fact that Bad Bunny never approved this tweet message to appear on his show’s screens.
The whole controversy was born last Saturday morning. During the performance of one of his songs, a message could be seen on the screens saying that Harry Styles could never do what Bad Bunny did, but in reverse: “Good night. Benito could have done As it was but Harry could never have done The Blackout.”
