The arrests by Palm Beach County authorities took place on Thursday. And today they appeared in court.

At least one of those arrested is known to be a prominent member of the Latin Kings gang.

Friday morning, Rafael Medina Jr., 43, Lake Worth resident; Octavious Medina, 23, resident of Boynton Beach; and Anthony Maldonado, 25, of Green Acres.

The three were arrested on Thursday as suspects in the attack on popular rapper known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, who was brutally assaulted in the bathroom of this Lake Worth area gymnasium in the Palm Beach County on Tuesday, March 21.

With a bloody face, Daniel Hernández, the 26-year-old artist’s real name, was rushed to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. And just a week later, reports claimed that for the second time in two months, he recorded a video v in Pinar del Río, province of Cuba.

The rapper was arrested in 2018 for racketeering. His possible 47-year prison sentence was reduced to house arrest, after cooperating with the authorities.
