An entrenched and armed man generates a large police presence in Aurora

The Aurora Police Department (APD) issued an evacuation order for some residents in a neighborhood of the city, Thursday morning as officers try to arrest an armed domestic violence suspect who is entrenched.

Authorities reported that there is a heavy police presence in the 1800 block of South Truckee Street. That’s near the intersection of E. Ashbury Drive and S. Telluride Street.

In a tweet, APD said the location is still considered an active scene and officers are trying to establish contact with the suspect and resolve the situation peacefully.

The SWAT team also went to the scene and broke windows in the house to help improve communication with the suspect, Aurora police said.
