A three-year-old girl was wandering the streets of a Miramar community early Monday morning when she was found by police, hours later the mother was arrested, according to police reports.

Nicole Maria Alejandro, 27, was jailed for neglecting a child without bodily harm, police say.

The girl was found by officers walking alone in the Riviera Isles community around 3 a.m., Miramar police said.

The girl, who speaks Spanish, was in good health, authorities added.

The little girl was reunited with her parents a few hours later on Monday, police said.
