The young Eduardo Contreras remains hospitalized, after suffering an accident which caused several skull fractures, which kept him in an artificial coma for 45 days.
Eduardo Contreras, the father of the hospitalized young man says:
“You have to wake up that brain first, get it back to the coordination it had before, and that takes a lot of family support.”
A support that this Cuban father is ready to offer to his son. For this, he needs a humanitarian visa that allows him to go as quickly as possible to South Florida, where the young Eduardo Contreras remains hospitalized.
“He has brain damage that remains to be determined. You have erased short-term memory. He doesn’t remember the last few months.”
That’s why I don’t remember what happened on the morning of November 20. Eduardo was traveling with his girlfriend, in her car, when they hit another vehicle. At that time, no one was injured.
“But a few minutes later a car came and rammed them. His wife died instantly because she was inside the vehicle,” says Contreras.
Eida Alfonso, a friend, says: “He is alone in this country. He has no family, he has no one to go see him. Go support him.”
According to the father of the young man, this woman has become the guardian angel of his son, whom he met when he was a child in Cuba.
“I started with exercises. Shake hands Throw the ball. Well, this hand already has 100% mobility,” says Alfonso.
But Eduardo still does not move the left part of his body.
“Even if I leave work at night, I always come by to see him. The best doctor for a child is his father.”
And in this case the two roles are fulfilled because the father of the young man is also a doctor. And although he has verified that his son is receiving the best medical care.
“All this must be combined with a dose of love. To the affection to the understanding of the family »
While waiting for the help that will allow him to travel, Eduardo will continue to fight for his recovery and Eida, at his side as a guardian who gives us a lesson in solidarity and infinite love.
