The “Ultra” Electronic Music Festival returns to its usual location in Downtown Miami and brings with it the usual chaos of the event which imposes street closures, and the hubbub due to the influx of thousands of tourists who came to enjoy the event. .

But with the influx of visitors, several arrests and hospitalizations took place on the first day of the outdoor festival which drew thousands to Miami’s Bayfront Park, home to top artists and DJs.

This Friday alone, the City of Miami Police Department made a total of seven arrests. The charges included disorderly conduct, trespassing, possession of fraudulent credit cards and disorderly intoxication, authorities said.

According to Miami Fire Rescue, 24 patients were assessed at the festival and 12 were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“People from over 100 different countries come to Miami to attend Ultra Music Festival,” said Ray Martinez, Event Entertainment Group, LLC. “We have that kind of global reach.”

The festival will run until Sunday, March 26.
