A 911 call reveals desperation after an alligator fatally attacked an 85-year-old woman outside a Florida lake while she was walking her pup.

“An alligator has a wife,” says the terrified neighbor who called for help.

Seconds after talking to the operator, the woman realizes that the old woman is dead.

“It’s too late…my God,” she said, crying.

The deadly attack happened Monday in Spanish Lakes Fairways, a 55+ community near Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County.

Locals told WPTV that the woman, identified as Gloria Serge, was walking her dog when an alligator grabbed it. She tried to push the dog away and died.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said the alligator was about 11 feet long.

An alligator hunter was called to the scene and was able to catch him and remove him from the neighborhood.

The recommendation is to never walk your pets around the lakes and always be very vigilant of your surroundings.
