Are you doing your best to solve today’s Wordle? You discovered that the word contains the letters “I” and “N”, but nothing else. It doesn’t reduce the indices and you don’t have the position of any of the letters. You have to do a little extra work if you want to find the right answer. Fortunately, a wordlist containing words with those letters should make things easier.

If the word list can’t help you (because there are so many words), there are tactics you can use to narrow down the possibilities. This helps keep the puzzle challenging but gets you closer to the correct answer.

There’s no way to get all of these words into Wordle with just six tries. You must resort to other tactics to reduce the possibilities.

  • Use words with unique letters to get more clues. While words like “Ronin” might be the correct answer, knowing the word doesn’t have two “N’s” doesn’t help if you’re wrong. Single words like “Use” or “Pinky” will give you more clues.
  • Eliminate the words whose letters you know are wrong. For example, if you try “English” and find that the first three letters are not in the word, you can cross out any word containing those letters. Words like “Suing” or “Siren” cannot be correct if one of their letters is wrong.
  • Check previous attempts to see if you can remove words this way. Knowing which letters are not in the puzzle is just as important as finding the correct letters. This helps you reduce the odds while keeping your remaining attempts intact.

There are a lot of words on the list, but with a little extra effort you can continue your daily streak and solve today’s Wordle.
