(Citizen Free Press)– President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris have released a playlist to keep your celebration at home in tune with the “America United” theme of the impending inauguration.
The 46 songs feature artists from across the music spectrum to honor the 46th president to be sworn into office.
The playlist is part of the Presidential Inauguration Committee’s push to provide opportunities for Americans to participate in the inauguration from home as the covid-19 pandemic forced them to cut back on traditional events such as the parade.
“During a tumultuous year that has kept so many loved ones apart, music has been a constant vehicle that has kept us connected. Whether you’re a country soul, jazz enthusiast, hip hop fan, classical music person, or just love the rock and roll of yesteryear, music brightens, inspires, unites and heals, ”said Tony Allen, CEO. of the Presidential Inauguration Committee.
You can listen to the playlist on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music streaming services. There is also a special mix of the playlist on SoundCloud.

The committee partnered with DJ D-Nice and Raedio – an actress, writer and producer for the Issa Rae record label – to curate the song collection.
The result is an eclectic mix of artists, from Led Zeppelin and The Doobie Brothers to Kendrick Lamar, Sza and Major Lazer.
The Biden-Harris campaign celebratory theme, Kygo and Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love,” is also in the mix.
“These songs and artists reflect the relentless spirit and rich diversity of America. They are the score for a new chapter and will help bring people together as the Biden-Harris administration begins its important work to unite our country, ”Allen said.
Raedio president Benoni Tagoe said the company was honored to create the playlist. “We know that music has the power to bring people together, and after a year of challenges and national divisions, we hope this collection will serve as an indication of a new beginning, positive change, and a reminder that the music of all type is a common language. ”
The committee is also producing a primetime television special the night of the inauguration.
The special, hosted by Tom Hanks, will air live on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC from 8:30 to 10 p.m. ET on January 20. It will feature performances by Jon Bon Jovi, who campaigned with Biden in Pennsylvania, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons.
