MONTERREY – Nearly 200 people who were traveling through Nuevo León, in northern Mexico, as undocumented immigrants were located by Civil Force authorities and made available to the National Migration Institute (INM).
The undocumented immigrants were detained in two different events and four men who were in charge of their transportation were also detained.
The first of the cases was registered in the municipality of Cadereyta, about 42 kilometers from Monterrey, when elements of the State Police noticed the presence of a truck with license plates from the neighboring state of Coahuila which was being driven at excessive speed.
The events occurred around 7:40 p.m. Saturday, when the unit was traveling on the road to Reynosa almost at its intersection with Las Misiones Avenue, in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood.
The uniformed officers stopped the vehicle bearing the legend “Specialized Friogar S.A de C.V” and when approaching for a review they noticed the crying of a minor that came from inside the truck.
At the scene, they located 83 migrants of different nationalities and arrested Jorge “N”, 28, the driver of the unit, and Cristian “N”, who was identified as the man who allegedly charged them for transporting them and crossing the border. .
In the municipality of Santa Catarina, elements of the Civil Force and the Federal Ministerial Police located 108 migrants inside a trailer that was traveling on the Monterrey-Saltillo highway.
The events were recorded shortly after 9:00 a.m., local time this Sunday, when, while reviewing the unit, the police found more than a hundred migrants of different nationalities who were being transported in the refrigeration box. vehicle.
The driver of the trailer, identified as Sergio “N”, 31, and his companion named Daniel “N”, 39, were arrested at the scene.
In less than 24 hours, both events were recorded and a total of 191 migrants of different nationalities were made available to the INM.
