Very soon, we’ll have another new Xbox Wireless Controller design on the way, and this time it’s a controller that’s partially made up of “scavenged CDs, water jugs, and other controller parts.” Sounds really good!

Specifically, the Remix Special Edition features “reclaimed plastics with a third party made from regrind and reclaimed materials,” which means you actually get subtle differences with every version sold.

“Blending post-consumer recycled resins with regrind material comprised of pre-molded colored parts creates custom earth-tone colors with subtle variations, swirls, markings and textures, giving each Remix Special Edition controller its own unique look.”

“Regrind is the process of mechanically recycling leftover Xbox One generation controller parts into a raw material that can be used to partially create new controllers while maintaining durability and performance. Post-consumer recycled resins are incorporated from reclaimed materials such as car headlight covers, plastic water jugs and compact discs.

Microsoft says this controller is part of Xbox’s mission to achieve “greater durability across the Xbox product portfolio” and therefore also includes a rechargeable battery as part of the package.

Pre-orders for the Xbox Wireless Controller – Remix Special Edition start today worldwide at a price of €74.99 ERP / US$84.99 MSRPwith an official release date of April 18, 2023.
