The latest entry in 2K’s WWE series arrives this week in the form of WWE 2K23, and as we expected from the previews, it’s getting some pretty impressive feedback! Most, if not all, of the reviews so far seem to be for the PlayStation 5 and PC versions; We also hope to bring you our Xbox verdict in the near future.
Without further ado, here’s what the critics are saying:
“With an overwhelming amount of content, it will be hard to find time for many more games coming out this year. WWE 2k is back in full swing, and it will be the title to beat for years to come.”
“If you’re craving satisfying combat action that’s never looked better than here, then don’t hesitate to take wwe 2k23, since it really is championship material.
“WWE 2K23 isn’t a huge step up from 2K22 with long load times and a surprisingly crude Showcase mode for John Cena, but the series still showed growth given that War Games is pure mayhem and that MyRise has improved a lot. The future is bright again for WWE and 2K, so fans should celebrate WWE 2K23 as if they had just won their first World Championship.”
“Last year’s outing was solid: not main event caliber, but the most playable in half a decade. WWE 2K23 is getting better. The old Smackdown series is finally back in full swing.”
“Overall, it looks like WWE 2K23 is bringing the series closer to delivering the total package you’ve come to expect from top sports games (like the NBA 2K franchise), but it’s not there yet.”
As you can see, it’s off to a great start for WWE 2K23, with an impressive Metacritic rating of 84 (for PlayStation 5) at the time of this writing. It looks like a worthy evolution of last year’s game, which we also really liked!
