One of the best features of World of Warcraft Dragonflight is the WoW Trading Post, a brand new storefront that rotates monthly and gives players the chance to pick up sweet cosmetics. Unfortunately, it’s the first time it’s been running since its introduction in the MMORPG, and there’s a major problem.

Whether you found that cosmetic you just need or if you’ve been too frivolous with your Tender’s Trader, Blizzard has introduced item freezes to the Trading Post to help you out. This system allows you to carry over an item from the previous month so that you can use your new supply of Merchant Money to retrieve it.

Unfortunately, it seems that the system is not working as expected. Since this is the first job change since launch, there are bound to be issues, and luckily Blizzard is already on the case.

Currently, players cannot purchase items they have frozen. Instead, the item seems to have disappeared, a little disturbing if really, in reality I wanted it.

Blizzard has addressed the issue in two separate places, with community managers Randy “Kaivax” Jordan and Neth “Nethaera” reassuring fans that their coveted items haven’t just disappeared into the ether.

“We are aware of the issues people are having and are working on it,” Nethaera writes. “Note that if you froze an item from the last month, don’t refreeze anything else. We believe this is a display bug that we are working to fix. Players may need to log out and log back in once the patch is added to the game to see the item again.”

This is echoed by Kaivax, who state that “we think this is a display issue in the previously locked item. It’s still there, but you can’t see it until we have not fixed the bug. We hope that once the bug is fixed, you will have to log out and back in to see the previously locked item.”

The obvious positive is that the item is, in fact, still there and the error is purely with the UI. Sure, it’s an annoying problem, but it could actually be a lot worse. In any case, I advise you to wait for a solution before freezing anything else; otherwise, you risk losing that precious Celestial Steed mount.
