As World of Warcraft heads into its big new content patch, WoW Dragonflight’s latest round of patches are giving some of the MMORPG’s less powerful classes some much-needed TLC, and yes, as a main shaman, I’m very happy .

Death Knight, Paladin, Shaman buffs

I’ve suffered a long time as an elemental shaman, struggling to deal damage while in turn embracing the seductive darkness that is Shadow Priest (which is also struggling to deal damage right now, but it’s a secondary problem).

There are a host of buffs for spells like Lightning Bolt and Lava Burst, but the biggest one is an 80% increase in Icefury damage. So a lotand when combined with the ability’s interaction with Frost Shock (also boasting a generous 15% buff), you’ll slow enemies left, right, and center and line them up to knock them back.

Aside from Shaman Reflections, Blood Death Knights will have all of their damage abilities buffed by 3%, and Holy Paladin will gain 10% more healing from Light of Dawn.

Protection Paladins’ Hammer of Rage and Hammer of Justice damage increased by 30% and 20% respectively, and Greater Judgment will grant your next Holy skill 40% more damage against affected targets (down from 20 %).

Of these changes, the Elemental Shaman tweaks are by far the most influential. Despite its popularity, the class has been at the bottom end of the high damage classes on our WoW Dragonflight tier list, but these buffs certainly feel like they’re going to kick mysterious spellcasters up a few notches. 80% to Icefury, damn it.

There are also a ton of changes to PvP, so if you’re a PvPer enthusiast, be sure to check them out.
