Grind Rails is a new feature in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 that lets you glide around the site as if you were playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater or Jet Set Radio. It’s a great way to quickly traverse the environment, and some missions will even require you to use Grind Rails, for example the Week 0 quest, “Restore Health or Gain Shields while on a Grind Rail”. However, you won’t find Grind Rails anywhere on the map. There are many of them, but they are all concentrated in one place.

All Grind Rail locations in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

The only place you can find Grind Rails on the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 map is in Mega City, which is in the center of the map’s new region to the southeast. It’s basically where the Faulty Splits were in Chapter 4 Season 1, but now it’s located between Steamy Springs, Kenjutsu Crossing, and the Knotty Nets. There are Grind Rails all over Mega City, both at ground level and between the rooftops of the city’s skyscrapers. Each Grind Rail has a different route and a different neon color.

How to Use Grind Rails in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

If you jump or slide on a Grind Rail, you will immediately start grinding it automatically without pressing a grind button. However, if you’re trying to ride a grind rail from below, you can also press Square/X to grind it. It works much like using the ziplines that have been in Fortnite for a long time.

To exit a Grind Rail, jump to the side or jump forward while taking a turn. If he just hits while jumping without direction when he is on a straight part of the Grind Rail, then he jumps and lands on the Grind Rail. If you run on a Grind Rail it will give you a huge burst of speed which consumes energy just like running. You cannot crouch on a Grind Rail, but you can use weapons and consumables.
