Disney Dreamlight Valley features several different gems and minerals that can be obtained through mining. These materials are used to craft items and complete quests, or can be sold to Goofy for coins. Gems are also often required to complete Dreamlight Tasks and Star Path Missions. Read on to find out where you can find Citrine and Shiny Citrine in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Where to Find Citrine and Shiny Citrine in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Citrine can be mined from rocky points located in the sunny plateau and the clear trust once you have unlocked the royal pickaxe. Any mineral vein located in these two biomes has a chance of dropping a citrine. Veins that feature visibly protruding gemstones will warrant a drop of that gem. To find citrine easily, you’ll want to keep an eye out for mineral veins that contain orange gems.

The quest to unlock Olaf requires one of each of the three gems, so it should be relatively quick and easy to get a Citrine Piece if that’s your only need. To complete part of this quest, you will need to collect Amethyst, Citrine, and Emerald, which are needed to activate the Void Pillars during this questline. You will need to collect regular citrine for the quest, not its shiny variant. Shiny Citrine can drop from veins in the same biomes but at a lower rate.

If you want to improve your chances of receiving citrine from a mineral vein, you can craft one of the in-game pickup consumables: miraculous beak polisher oh Even more miraculous beak polishing. These potions can be applied to your pickaxe to increase the chance of you dropping a gem while mining. Miracle Pickaxe Polish lasts for five uses, and Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish lasts for 12 uses. As long as you mine in the correct biomes, you should have no problem getting citrine, especially if you use one of these potions. However, since potions require Dreamlight to craft and citrine is one of the most common gemstones, we don’t recommend using them if your goal is to complete Olaf’s quest.
You can increase your chances of getting extra Citrine from mining by hanging out with a mining partner. You will have a chance to get a benefit from the last mined item when accompanied by such a villager. This is extremely useful and definitely recommended if you are farming minerals or gems in Dreamlight Valley.
