Sons of the Forest lets you use a map to help you navigate the forest. Although it doesn’t provide the locations for most things, it’s still very useful. When you first play the game, you will see three purple markers on the map, far apart from each other. In this guide we are going to tell you what are the purple markers in Sons of the Forest.

The three purple markers are part of the first story quest in Sons of the Forest. When you crashed in the forest, there was another group of soldiers with you; Team B. These purple markers are Team B’s locations, and you must visit each of them to collect their items. The reason you can see their location is that all three carry a GPS locator.

The first purple marker is near the snowy mountain. If you started the game in the snowy region, you must go there first. When you arrive at the scene, you will find a member of Team B hanging from a rope. You have to cross the cliff and cut the rope. To do this, press the ‘I’ key to open your inventory. Then select your knife and use it to cut the rope. When the body falls, approach and take the GPS locator and the flashlight.

The next purple marker is in the southeast section and you have to go a long distance. So, add a few essential items to your inventory, like ready meals, before heading there. We also recommend filling the flask with water, so you don’t have to rush into a river if your character gets thirsty during the journey. Upon arriving there, you will find a grave. It won’t be hard to spot as it has a cross with a piece of cloth attached to it. You can dig this grave using the shovel to find the corpse of the second member of Team B. You can pick up another GPS locator, as well as the shotgun, from this body.

third marker
Finally, for the third purple marker, you need to head west. For this one, you’ll need to swim as it points to a small floating orange raft. On this raft, you will find the corpse of the third member of Team B. Be sure to collect the GPS locator from the corpse and the gun from the raft. Also be careful when swimming as there are sharks around the raft.
