Warner Bros. and Player First Games will close the MultiVersus Open Beta on June 25. The team is aiming for early 2024 for a final release with a revamped version.

MultiVersus is a fighting game that opened its open beta a few months ago and has character licenses from WB. The game also received generally good reviews, reaching a monthly average of 150,000 players in its first few months (as of September 2022). However, recent reports have shown that the game’s daily player count has dropped to an average of around 1,300 players per day.

When announcing the closure of the open beta to polish certain aspects of the game, they said:

“We know there is still a lot of work to do. As a result, we have a clearer view of what we need to focus on, especially the content cadence for new characters, maps, and modes to give you more ways to enjoy the game, as well as an updated netcode. and more matchmaking improvements. . We’ll also be reworking the progression system based on your feedback and looking for new ways to connect with your friends in-game.”

“You will have limited offline access to the Training Room (known as The Lab) and local matches, as well as access to your characters and cosmetic items in those modes.”

You will still be able to download and play the game, and even buy coins, until April 4. The current Battle Pass will be extended until the closing date.
