the university center Voxel School opened on February 24 the Conference ”Art, Education and Industry”. He did it hand in hand with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Spanish government, maroto kings. In addition, these conferences also included education officers, entertainment and technology industry officers.

The day began with a visit by Reyes Maroto to the campus of the Center Universitaire des Arts Numériques. Accompanied by José Cuesta, director of the school, Ignacio Martínez de Salazar, academic director, and José María Guibert Ucín, rector of the University of Deusto, SJ With this visit, the Minister was able to discover the academic model of the school , visit spaces such as the one with PlayStation inside the school itself or the facilities of Kraken 3D Studios.
After this visit, the “Art, Education and Industry” Conference was inaugurated with a panel discussion titled “Digital Art Education as a Basis for the Creative Media and Entertainment Industry”. All the people mentioned above participated as well as Mr. Jorge Huguet, General Manager and Marketing of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The Minister described Voxel as “a pioneering and recognized school in the field of the digital economy, which has been training digital artists for several years. In addition, she insisted on the importance and growth of the video game industry in Spain. combines culture, creative talent and technology and which, thanks to the good work of the companies that make up this industry, is called to play a very important role within the digital economy of our country”.

Jose Cuestadirector of the school, asserted that “the university’s participation within industry as the base of the pyramid is essential. Technology is constantly advancing and it is essential for companies to have their qualified personnel and updated to be able to compete in international market”.

The round table also highlighted a note by José María Guibert, rector of the University of Deusto, on research on how this sector influences people’s psychology and the consequences it has or can have.

Finally, Jorge Huguet stressed the importance of understanding between the public and private spheres in order to continue to move forward quickly and take advantage of the moment the sector is going through.

In addition to the roundtable, four new degrees were announced. These were: Diploma in Design and Digital Arts for Video Games, Diploma in Digital Animation Cinema, Diploma in Graphic Design and Motion Graphics, and Diploma in Composition, Post-Production and Visual Effects. To end the day, an open day was organized so that families with children in high school could visit the campus, as well as enjoy different activities.
