The Team Fortress 2 community was perked up a few days ago after Valve released a statement announcing that the game was getting an update, an “expansion-sized update”, and that it could contain “who knows what else”. Needless to say, the width of the sentence and the open terms led many to believe that this would be something truly expansive.
However, it appears that won’t be the case, as Valve removed this claim and redacted the original text so that one of the two quotes above now reads as “Holiday size update”, and the other has been removed entirely.
He keeps mentioning that the update will deliver: “items, maps, taunts, unusual effects, warpaints, and other gameplay fixes contributed by the community”, but anyone expecting a lot more should check his expectations.
In short, Valve has teased and misled us a little as to what this update will actually bring, but either way, we’ll find out for sure as soon as it looks like the update is due for release. ‘summer.
