Limbus Company is a new strategy RPG with gacha elements. The game was created by ProjectMoon. You can expect an interesting combat system, weird lore, and a fairly high level of difficulty. In this guide, we talk about the uptie mechanic, which is necessary to defeat stronger opponents.
Description of uptie at Limbus Company
- uptie – is a way to improve the character’s Identity. However, it is somewhat different in level. When you level up, you increase your stats. If you stand up, you get new abilities and skills. The maximum uptie level is 3.
- Good morning – this piece is used for uptie. You can get it for Egoshards (1:1). The higher the rarity of the Identity, the more you will have to pay (00 – 10 and 40; 000 – 20 and 80).
- You cannot change base identities – are updated automatically during the story (after each chapter). So at the end of Chapter 2, your 0 Identities will be brought to the maximum level.
- how to climb – you need to go to the Sinners tab, choose the character you want to upgrade and choose the Identity, then click (or tap) on the appropriate image and hold for a moment.
- Upgraded characters are mostly better. – if your base characters are maxed (due to lore) and your rare identities are level 0, think twice about changing them. In many cases it is more cost effective to use linked characters. They have more abilities. Remember that.
How to get thread in Limbus Company
As mentioned, if you want uptie, you gotta pay Thread. At the moment you cannot get it directly (only as a gift from the developers or as part of the premium packs). However, this should be possible in the near future. ProjectMoon has announced that on March 16, they will present the Luxcavation Thread Dungeon. You can get this part there.
However, for now you can exchange Egoshards for Sons (1:1). Just navigate to the Cast tab in the main menu. Egoshard is a character-specific currency. You can buy new identities and EGOs for this.
It is possible to earn Egoshards for get duplicates in gacha game. However, the most reliable (and free) method is to farm it in the Mirror Dungeon (we have a separate guide outlining this mechanic). Of course, you can always pay them.
At the end of each season, 50% of your Egoshards will automatically convert to Thread. This will also happen with your Egoshard boxes.
